White Lodging is proud to announce that Dave Montrose, senior vice president of operations, has joined the Penn State School of Hospitality Management (SHM) Industry Advisory Board.
“Throughout my career, I’ve found my proudest moments center around seeing the success and growth of our associates,” Montrose said. “For many of our managers, this success is predicated from the strong foundation they receive while earning their degrees. I’m honored to be selected to be on the advisory board that will help determine the growth and development of hospitality students at Penn State.”
The board invites industry experts to strategically advise SHM on industry trends and guide students who are studying hospitality management. The members are leaders in the field, including vice presidents and senior vice presidents of large companies and executive vice presidents, chief operating officers and CEO’s of smaller companies.
Montrose brings nearly 30 years of hospitality experience to the board. Previously, he was the senior regional vice president of operations for White Lodging, where he was responsible for maximizing operational results for 50 select-service assets and also spent four years as regional vice president of operations. Montrose led the openings of several high-profile urban hotels in the Nashville, Houston and Denver markets.
Montrose is a graduate of Ohio State University with a degree in restaurant, hotel, institutional and tourism management. He currently holds or has held board positions on the Indiana Hotel and Lodging Association, as well as several academic advisory committees.
