Tolleston Opportunity Hub
A grand vision to create a wellness campus in Gary, Indiana is in full motion. A combined effort among the White Family Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Northwest Indiana, Methodist Hospitals, Crossroads YMCA, and the City of Gary, this $30 million project will be located at the Gary Branch of the Boys and Girls Club.
The Foundation has committed $10 million toward the initiative, which will make a positive generational impact on the health of Gary residents. Renovating the existing footprint, this 40,000-square-foot facility will include and connect the YMCA and Methodist Hospital, featuring urban gardens, a central kitchen, a pool, physical therapy, a pharmacy, and urgent care services.
Upon completion of this first phase, another fundraising initiative to develop an outdoor recreation area will begin. The entire project aims to inspire, educate, and enhance the community.
