New restaurant features happy hour-ready patio
Central Bar + Kitchen, Nashville’s newest restaurant, is ready to welcome locals and Nashville travelers alike starting Thursday, October 10, 2019. The energetic social hub brings a lively bar centric atmosphere where guests can expect American comfort food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Central Bar + Kitchen is located on West End Avenue in the popular Midtown neighborhood, immediately next to the Marriott Nashville at Vanderbilt University. The restaurant is steps away from Vanderbilt Stadium and a quick walk to popular spots like the Parthenon and Centennial Park.
After a five-month renovation project, the new restaurant concept replaces Park 25 Bistro. Central Bar + Kitchen pays homage to the university’s history prior to the endowment from legendary railroad magnate Cornelius Vanderbilt, when the university was called “The Central University.” The warm and welcoming space is centered around an activated outdoor patio filled with fresh plants, garden walls, strung lights, lounge seating and a full bar. The modern and stylish design lends itself to a relaxing atmosphere ideal for a business lunch or happy hour with friends.
“We’re ready for the community to experience our upbeat and lively indoor and outdoor space,” said Brett Ritter, general manager, who joined Central Bar + Kitchen from Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. “With unique food and specialty cocktails, we’re anything but the middle of the road. The quality of our food and drink speaks for itself.”
The kitchen is helmed by executive chef Jason Siles. He has served as the executive chef at Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University since 2017. Prior to making the move to Nashville he was the executive chef at Denver Marriott Westminster, and served as a sous chef at JW Marriott Indianapolis and Renaissance Boulder Flatiron Hotel.
Central Bar + Kitchen blends classic plates with modern flair to make each dish unlike anything else. Whether you’re looking to start the day off strong or have a relaxing evening, the menu is complete with what is sure to be your new favorite dish.
Breakfast isn’t the most important meal of the day for nothing, so start it off with the Everything Sandwich topped with everything cream cheese, peppered bacon, baby kale and roasted Roma tomatoes. If you’re looking for something a little more adventurous, try the Sweet Corn Cake Benedict finished with jalapeño cheddar corn cake, avocado, tomato and corn salsa.
Power through your day with a delicious Seven Layer Salad with Adobo Chicken for lunch, complete with romaine lettuce, roasted tomatoes, corn, black beans, avocado, cheddar and smoked pepper ranch. Or put your taste buds to the test with a local favorite, Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich.
Happy hour with friends? Dig into the signature Roasted Sweet Corn Dip served with cotija and crispy corn tortillas. Check-in on Yelp and you’ll get this signature dip on the house.
Grilled Shishito Peppers with yuzu aioli is a great start to dinner, but save room for a juicy Double Barrel Burger complete with a half-pound brisket blend and finished off with lettuce, onion, pickles, American cheese and secret sauce – and if you’re feeling up to it – add on some thick-cut peppered bacon. Spice things up and try the Green Chili & Chicken Enchiladas topped with yogurt crema, cilantro, avocado and lime.
Signature Cocktails and Seasonal Sips
There’s a reason we’re a “Bar + Kitchen” and not the other way around. Central Bar + Kitchen will offer classic cocktails with a central twist and one-of-a-kind seasonal drinks. Enjoy a Three Pepper Paloma with bell pepper infused Tromba Tequila, agave, poblano grapefruit soda and chili lime sea salt, or sip on a fall favorite Pumpkin Spice Fizz with Plymouth Gin, citrus, pumpkin spice syrup and ginger ale. Grab your cocktail of choice and head to the patio for a relaxing evening in Music City.
