For the past two years, Brian has served as Chief Operating Officer at Winegardner & Hammons Inc., responsible for a portfolio of 20 hotels comprised of Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and independently-branded properties. His leadership in operations, owner relations, revenue management, sales, marketing, and e-commerce resulted in gross annual sales of more than $170 million. He was also responsible for executive leadership selection as well as strategic and capital planning. During Brian’s tenure as COO, he managed Winegardner & Hammons’ successful merger with Pyramid Hotel Group.
An exceptional leader, with nearly 30 years of hospitality management experience, Brian has served in a series of progressive roles at Winegardner & Hammons since the beginning of his career, including Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Food & Beverage and general manager of several properties. Brian is a proven high-performer, who has won numerous awards throughout his career, such as the Renaissance brand Opening of the Year in 2008 as the head of food and beverage for the launch of the Renaissance Indianapolis North. In addition, he led his team to win the Sales Leader of the Year award from Marriott International in 2005 while General Manager of the Marriott Union Centre and the Conrad Hilton Award for best in brand performance in 2002 while serving as general manager of the Embassy Suites Lexington.
Due to his breadth and depth of experience, Brian is a sought after industry thought leader serving on the Marriott International Food & Beverage and Rooms Advisory boards. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
