Located adjacent to the Courtyard Austin Downtown/Convention Center, Champions Austin relaunches with a floor-to-ceiling refresh, fresh menu options and a new chef. Champions closed its doors at the start of the pandemic and used the time to enhance the brand and the food – ultimately elevating the classic All-American Sports Bar. The restaurant is expected to reopen on January 17, 2023.
The new Champions Austin features a mix of modern sophistication with a high-energy atmosphere. The rich color palate is accented by gold finishes and creates a more elevated ambiance than your traditional sports bar. In the spring, Champions will open a new outdoor patio seating area.
“Champions Austin is the perfect location for an elevated dining experience, after work drinks, or a place to cheer on your favorite team,” said Restaurant General Manager Jonathan Heinrich. “The redefined space, inspired by the eclectic spirit of Austin, creates an inviting environment for everyone, not only sports fans.”
Champions Austin new Chef, Nicholas Manobianco, showcases a new menu featuring a creative twist on American classics such as southern fried chicken, loaded BBQ pulled pork nachos, and iron skillet cornbread. He joins Champions from the Barr Mansion where he served as the Executive Chef.
“The team had a lot of fun recreating this menu,” said Manobianco. “Everything from the appetizers to the entrees is elevated in flavor and presentation.”
The restaurant also features a robust beverage program including craft cocktails and an extensive local beer list. Champions Austin will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as weekend brunch.
