Michael Galligan Promoted to General Manager of the Residence Inn Round Rock in Austin, Texas
Galligan moves to his new property from the Fairfield Austin South
Merrillville, Ind. (Dec. 17, 2012): White Lodging is pleased to announce Michael Galligan has been promoted to general manager of the Residence Inn Round Rock in Austin, Texas. Previously Galligan was the general manager of the Fairfield Inn Austin South.
“I am very excited and thankful for the opportunity to manage the Residence Inn Round Rock,” said Galligan. “I look forward to a successful 2013 as well as learning a new brand.”
Galligan has over six years of experience in guest relations and hotel management complimented by a Bachelor of Science in Tourism, Convention and Event Management from the Indiana University Purdue University in Indianapolis. Galligan began his hospitality career as rooms controller at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown before advancing to night auditor supervisor and front desk manager. After two years in Indianapolis, Galligan moved his hospitality career to Austin, Texas where he gained additional experience in housekeeping and front office with Courtyard and Fairfield Inn & Suites brands.
While looking forward to 2013, one of Galligan’s main priorities is to learn the Residence Inn brand.
“The Residence Inn will be Michael’s fourth Marriott brand and as a result, brings a great wealth of knowledge. In each of his previous roles he has been extremely successful,” said Kevin Grandin, regional vice president at White Lodging. “In his most recent role as general manager at the Fairfield Inn and Suites Austin South, the hotel was recognized for outstanding performance in guest, associate and owner satisfaction. We are very excited to see his career continue as he moves into his new role.”
