Deno Yiankes

President and CEO Investments and Development Division

Mr. Yiankes leads White Lodging’s investment and development division which includes the organization’s deal sourcing, underwriting, equity deployment, construction/project management and development functions. During his tenure, White Lodging has grown from 4 hotels in Indiana to a current managed portfolio of 165 hotels located in 19 states and has been instrumental in negotiating, developing and transacting on over $3.0 billion of hotel real estate. Prior to joining White Lodging in 1990, Mr. Yiankes served as Senior Associate with HVS International in Mineola, New York and has also worked in a variety of front and back of the house operational roles at the hotel property level while working his way through college.

He has co-authored chapters in Hotel Investments and Hotel Asset Management – Principles & Practices, two leading industry resource books published by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. Mr. Yiankes serves on Marriott International’s National Association Advisory Board (MINA), is a member/past president of Hospitality Asset Managers Association and is a member of the Urban Land Institute where he currently serves on the Hotel Development Council.

Mr. Yiankes received a bachelor’s degree with honors in Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management from Purdue University Calumet where he serves on the Chancellor’s Advisory Board. He continues to works closely with Purdue Calumet’s School of Hospitality Management and has established two annual merit and need based scholarships within the program.
