COURTYARD FORT WAYNE DOWNTOWN, IN
When Fort Wayne, IN was looking for a hotel to complete a downtown revitalization project, White Lodging was ready to step up to the plate. Along with a new downtown baseball stadium, apartments, and parking garage, the city was looking to add a new hotel to the highly visible Harrison Square mixed-used development, whose goal was to bring additional business and foot traffic into the heart of the city.
White Lodging responded by developing, managing, operating and doing all the pre-opening sales and marketing for the 250-room Courtyard by Marriott, which opened in September 2010. The six-story hotel is physically connected to the historic Embassy Theatre and the Grand Wayne Convention Center by a skywalk, and is adjacent to the home of the Fort Wayne Tincaps baseball team, a farm team for the San Diego Padres.
Inside the hotel, guests can stop in for a drink or bite to eat at Champions, a sports bar and restaurant with 30 high definition TVs, host a meeting in the hotel’s 6,000 square feet of meeting space, or attend an event in the 3,500 square feet of ballroom space, which can accommodate up to 250 guests.
