COURTYARD & RESIDENCE INN RICHMOND DOWNTOWN, VA

Notable Development

The First Freedom hotel project, located in Richmond’s historic Shockoe Slip district, includes two hotels-Courtyard Hotel by Marriott and Residence Inn by Marriott. The actual site of the hotels, 14th and Cary Streets, is the site where the Virginia General Assembly, on January 16, 1786, passed the Virginia Statue for Religious Freedom and for the first time in history, placed into law the protection of religious freedom. The hotels are close to Richmond’s financial district, state government, Virginia Commonwealth University hospitals, and other downtown historic attractions and provide easy access to museums and historical venues for visitors.
